Substation DC system refurbishment

The lead-acid battery in substations DC system was replaced by RENERA lithium-ion batteries in 2018.

The project was successfully implemented: substation DC system was equipped with LIB and successfully passed the tests on Main step down substation number 2 in 2013. Nowadays reliability and safety are confirmed by both international certificates and customer reviews.

Due to the installation of a new energy storage system based on lithium-ion batteries, it was possible to decommission the charging room and significantly save on its maintenance. The system is space effective, and its service life in the power industry reaches 30 years both in buffer and cyclic mode.
