Rosatom enterprises told about saving on electricity supply with the use of energy storage devices

Industry integrator of Rosatom's energy storage systems LLC "Cathode Materials" (enterprise Fuel company TVEL) and energy company of the nuclear industry JSC "Atomenergoprom" held a joint webinar on optimizing power consumption using the system of accumulation of electricity. The speakers of the webinar were Alexey Neshta, Director of the Project Office of Atomenergopromsbyt JSC, and Natalia Leontieva, Head of the Marketing Department of Cathode Materials LLC.

During the online meeting, the participants discussed the main trends and trends of modern energy, including the construction of distributed generation (peak and block stations for industrial consumers, solar-powered households). The speakers noted the prospects of increasing flexibility in power systems not only on the side of generators with maneuverable power, but also for consumers.

The presentation of the project "Commercial dispatching on the basis of SNEE" aroused keen interest of the participants: "dispatcher" allows you to manage the cost of purchased electricity from industrial consumers. The savings of enterprises from joining the project can amount to up to 1.5 million rubles per month for each 1 MW of capacity. At the same time, today companies have a unique opportunity to join the project without additional investment — it is enough to provide a platform for placing SNEE (electricity storage systems) and receive electricity at lower tariffs, the cost part is the investment of JSC Atomenergopromsbyt. The project is based on an energy storage device with an intelligent control system. Commercial dispatching of SNEE is based on predictive analytics, know-how of Atomenergopromsbyt.

The speaker from the side of LLC" Cathodic Materials " noted that the revenue part of the project is directly affected by the expenditure part — the cost of equipment. "We provide our customers and partners with competitive prices for lithium-ion battery energy storage systems. In an unstable economic situation, it is important to offer a comprehensive offer: in addition to a competitive price, to provide the customer with the opportunity to use such financial instruments as trade-in, lease, leasing and life cycle contracts, " Natalia Leontieva said.

"We, as developers of market projects for the use of energy storage systems, are extremely interested in expanding the opportunities for their commercialization. "Commercial dispatcher" has a huge number of technological advantages as a source of generation: manageability, a wide range of control capabilities (both for loading and unloading), solving issues of ensuring reliability, speed. The energy system and the market must learn to commercialize all these advantages, " Alexey Neshta said at the end of the meeting.

LLC " RENERA" (part of the Fuel Company TVEL) is an actively developing industry integrator of Rosatom in the field of power storage systems. The company is engaged in lithium-ion batteries for in-plant and logistics electrical equipment, and also offers solutions for emergency and uninterrupted power supply, smoothing of load peaks in the power grid, energy storage for hybrid systems.

The presence of our own R&D center allows us to develop, along with standard systems, complex solutions for individual customer requirements. The team accompanies the project from R & D to production, provides service. The integrator has dozens of completed projects, and solutions with a single capacity of up to 1 MW are under development.

JSC Atomenergopromsbyt is a branch energy sales company of the State Corporation Rosatom and supplies electric energy to more than 150 consumers — industrial enterprises and organizations in different sectors of the economy. The main consumers of electric power of JSC "Atomenergosbyt" are the enterprises of nuclear industry. JSC "Atomenergoprom" is aimed at creation and promotion of innovative solutions to optimize supply.

The fuel company of Rosatom "TVEL" includes enterprises for the fabrication of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of stable isotopes, production of gas centrifuges, as well as research and development organizations. It is the only supplier of nuclear fuel for Russian nuclear power plants. Rosatom's fuel company TVEL provides nuclear fuel to 73 power reactors in 13 countries, research reactors in eight countries, and transport reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on fuel made by TVEL.
