The industry integrator of the State Corporation "Rosatom" for energy storage systems LLC "Cathodic Materials" (part of the Fuel Company of Rosatom "TVEL") has started cooperation with LLC "Technoimport", part of the BALKANCAR group — a major European manufacturer of specialized and logistics electric vehicles with headquarters in Bulgaria.
The agreement concluded between the two companies will allow to equip BALKANCAR equipment with lithium-ion batteries (LIAB) produced by Rosatom. Technoimport LLC will conduct research and pilot operation of LIAB at the facilities of the company's technical park, after which a decision will be made to equip the supplied equipment on a regular basis.
Special equipment based on lithium-ion traction batteries (forklifts, platform trucks, auto trucks) is in increasing demand, since such energy storage devices are in some cases much more economically efficient. Unlike lead-acid batteries, they do not require regular maintenance, they can be recharged at any time, and the electronic battery management system allows you to visually control all parameters.
"The use of LIAB on our electric transport is an innovative solution that opens up a new direction for us in the development and development of BALKANCAR technology, and also allows us to contribute to the preservation of the environment," said the director of Technoimport LLC“ Yevgeny Zemlyakov. — In the proposed model, we were interested in a number of unique technical solutions, in particular-the ability to balance cells, an advanced BMS (battery management system) that meets our requirements for maximum energy efficiency and the possibility of mutually integrated solutions in smart or robotic logistics complexes."
The electric vehicle market in the EU has been actively developing for more than 20 years, and manufacturers put forward high requirements for the components and materials used. The project opens up opportunities for Rosatom to cooperate with the BALKANCAR Group not only in the Russian market, but also in the future in the Bulgarian market.
"We are happy to reach a new level of cooperation with a foreign manufacturer. Our batteries are not inferior in their technical characteristics to foreign analogues and even surpass them in terms of price-quality ratio. Our experience in implementing Rosatom's in-house projects to equip in-house and logistics electrical equipment allows us to offer the customer a high-tech product at an attractive price, " said Emin Askerov, General Director of Cathodic Materials LLC.
